How Flo Mentoring Began

Meet Florence

founder of flo mentoring

sport & exercise scientist

master female fitness programmer

l1 crossfit & gymnastics trainer

I’m Florence, and I know what it’s like to live under the pressure to always perfect and perform—no matter the cost.

I used to train high-intensity every day while juggling multiple jobs and full-time study, convinced I was making healthy choices. But beneath the discipline was constant fatigue, low mood, and a body that eventually couldn't keep up.

When burnout hit, I had no roadmap—just a long, isolating path to rebuilding. But that experience reshaped everything.

Now, I support high-achieving women who feel like they’re running on empty. If every workout leaves you exhausted, sleep no longer restores you, and your body feels like it’s working against you—you’re not failing. You’re just burned out.

With 8+ years in the health & fitness industry, and a deep understanding of female physiology, I’m here to guide you back to feeling strong, energised, and at home in your body—through a more sustainable, cycle-aware approach to training and recovery.

Flo Mentoring didn’t start as a business—it started as a personal experience

Like many of the women I now support, I used to be praised for my “discipline.” I never missed a workout. I pushed through pain, stress, and exhaustion. Rest days weren’t rest—they were punishment. I told myself I was chasing performance, but really, I was addicted to exercise and obsessed with looking the part.

At the time, I was juggling full-time study and coaching, constantly putting everyone else first. I dreaded trying to sleep each night. I followed a binge and restrict pattern with eating. My nervous system was permanently fried. Yet I still trained harder—thinking that more effort would somehow make things better.

It didn’t.

Eventually, my body forced me to stop. I started getting sick all the time. My weight dropped rapidly. My lower back pain stopped me from training heavy. I was always tired, always wired, and so emotionally reactive that even small things felt overwhelming. I ended up in the emergency room with what was diagnosed as chronic fatigue. It was my wake-up call—finally one I couldn’t ignore.

What followed was one of the hardest seasons of my life. I stepped away from training and coaching, completely disconnected from who I was. I withdrew from friends. I felt lost, frustrated, and deeply alone. With no real support from doctors or allied health professionals, I had to trust in what I did have—my experience, my expertise, and my own education—and began researching everything I could about overtraining, burnout, and women’s health.

That’s when everything changed.

I realised that rebuilding after burnout wasn't as simple as gradually making my workouts harder (believe me, I tried—and would just end up sick, injured, or burnt out yet again). It’s about rebuilding from the ground up—starting with the basics that we all tend to ignore: sleep, nutrition, recovery, rest, hormones, and stress. I began creating a cycle-aligned training approach and finally started listening to what my body needed. Slowly, I came back stronger—not just physically, but in how I felt, thought, and lived.

And that’s what I teach now.

Flo Mentoring exists to support high-achieving women who feel like they’re burning out just trying to “keep up.” If every workout leaves you wrecked, if your sleep doesn’t restore you, if your body feels like it’s working against you—you’re not failing. You’re just burnt out.

You don’t need another generic training program. You need a guided path to put an end to the burnout cycle, and finally feel like yourself again.
